Q Part I: The first part of this week’s discussion is based on your own thoughts and experiences and does not require you to complete any of the learning materials prior to joining the conversation. The first question in this discussion is opinion and experience-based, so you can begin immediately. 1. Post your presentation from Module 7 before Wednesday. 2. Please share what your overall experience in this course has been like. How is your understanding and perception of diversity and healthcare inequities different now than it was just over 7 weeks ago? Please post your opinions by Wednesday of this week. Evaluate Part II: For subsequent questions please meaningfully integrate your assigned module readings and videos. Please respond to the following questions one at a time and discuss these issues with classmates and your instructor: 2. After reviewing your classmates' presentations, discuss the commonalities that are presented in your respective ideal systems. What stands out as the greatest disparities/barriers to health and healthcare overall? What struck you as unique or particularly effective strategies to overcome these, and why do you think these strategies are noteworthy? 3. Several of the readings addressed inequities and disparities in health services for diverse populations. What inequities or disparities did your group discover in your final projects? Do you think we are doing enough in this country to address these? If not, what else should we be doing? 4. Near the end of the week, after reviewing and discussing your classmates' presentations, share your closing thoughts on what you feel needs to happen next to make our healthcare system more welcoming and culturally and linguistically appropriate for all people in America. Part II is due between Thursday and Saturday. Responses to peers are required and must be posted before Sunday at 11:59 pm ET. The goal of this discussion is to generate an ongoing discussion so please review and comment on your peers' timelines and give feedback throughout the week.
